The player follows each track's stored sort order, which overlapping
folder scans, Add File, and imports joining a book could leave out of
step with the file names the Files tab shows. Realign a book's tracks
after each of those writes, under the book row lock.
Closes#1681
Use file identities for root-level imports and renames to match scanner
grouping and prevent unrelated books from sharing metadata.
Cover repeated scans, metadata write-back, and stable reading and file
identities with regression tests.
Fixes#1599
Carry ISBN-10 and ISBN-13 independently from accepted providers through
Auto-fill previews, saves and background refreshes. Preserve existing
identifiers and field locks, validate provider checksums and avoid
combining different editions.
Classify embedded ISBNs correctly and support ISBN-10 fallback in
search, Book Dock confidence and file naming.
Expose media-overlay-aware naming across file creation and delivery paths while preserving existing client contracts. Keep settings router mocks compatible with the application router exports.
Closes#1590
Keep one cover slot per medium and show the one each surface needs: the
library's shape for the face, square art on audio screens, the ebook slot
for Kobo and OPDS. Legacy covers convert on upgrade or on first read, and a
write that names no slot keeps working for released iOS builds. Also read
the dev client origin from one constant.
Add EPUB narration, shared media controls, and native device session integration.
Apply the generated migrations and update all first-party clients alongside the server.
BREAKING CHANGE: introduce incompatible database and API contracts for media playback
Imports resolved the naming pattern with the download resolver, which keeps only the last
path segment, so the shipped default's author and series folders were dropped and every file
landed at the library root. Rename, bulk rename and move all kept them, leaving the app
disagreeing with itself about where its own import belonged.
Closes#1157
Treat series positions as validated string labels so values such as 5.10 retain their exact representation across storage, metadata providers, file formats, and clients.
Closes#1119
When library items are scanned or moved on case-insensitive filesystems, paths with non-standard author or folder capitalization point to the same physical disk entries. Treating previous path spellings as distinct caused scanner, upload, dock, and rename services to fail path-reuse lookups and create duplicate book records.
Introduce path identity helpers to check whether paths resolve to the same underlying filesystem entry, treating matching entries as path updates rather than creating duplicate books.
Closes#1012
Re-evaluate the library format priority when uploading additional files to an existing book so higher-priority file formats properly take over as the primary file.
Closes#755
Store file inodes as numeric rather than bigint on PostgreSQL, and read/process them as BigInt in Node.js. This preserves exact 64-bit inodes from filesystems like MergerFS (hybrid-hash) and avoids folder mis-merging or disabled rename detection.
Closes#618
Ensure that new book imports via scanner or file upload prioritize and
preserve embedded metadata. Pass a new `preserveExisting` option to the
metadata fetch pipeline to prevent external providers from overwriting
existing fields or covers that were extracted from the book files during
import.
Closes#612
The upload paths saved only the aggregate book_metadata duration, leaving book_files.durationSeconds
null so the player summed to zero. Extract and aggregate per-file duration on new uploads and added
audio files, matching the scanner.
Ref #330
Book titles and author names can contain characters that are invalid on Windows,
SMB/NFS shares, or cloud sync platforms (e.g., `:`, `?`, `*`, `"`). Without
sanitization these characters appear verbatim in generated file and folder names,
which causes failures on Windows filesystems, broken NFS/SMB mounts, and sync issues.
Add a toggleable app setting that, when enabled, sanitizes illegal filesystem
characters in all pattern-resolved paths (upload, rename, book-dock finalize, and
download). Each token value is sanitized before substitution: invalid chars are
replaced with `_`, trailing dots and spaces are stripped, and Windows reserved names
(CON, AUX, NUL, COM1-COM9, LPT1-LPT9) get a suffix to avoid conflicts. The setting
defaults to off to preserve existing behavior.
